The Medical Radiation Practitioner Board of Australia is the national regulator for over 18,200 medical radiation practitioners in Australia. The functions of the Board include
- registers diagnostic radiographers, radiation therapists and nuclear medicine technologists and students
- develops standards, codes and guidelines for the medical radiation practice profession
- investigates notifications and takes action to protect the public
- assesses overseas trained practitioners who wish to practise in Australia
- approve accreditation standards and qualifications for registration.
