We are delighted to invite you to join us for the 12th Annual Scientific Meeting of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy to be held in beautiful Perth, Western Australia 24-26 March 2017. Pre conference workshops will be available on 23 March.

The theme for the conference is Reach, providing you with the opportunity to share, reflect upon and challenge your current medical radiation science practice, to consider the future, and to engage your professional community to embrace new possibilities.

REACH OUT to consider your local and international community, professional service and altruism, medical radiation science volunteering and outreach, and holistic and supportive care.

REACH BEYOND to share innovative and advanced care, new and emerging technologies, current developments in safety and quality assurance, complex and challenging practice, and cutting-edge medical radiation science research.

REACH ACROSS to explore support for your colleagues, interprofessional and transprofessional practice, enhancing workplace culture, and mentoring students and new graduates.

REACH WITHIN to consider resilience, reflective practice, professional growth, career planning, professional creativity, workforce development, professionalism, and emerging professional challenges.

The conference will be held at the new Crown Perth located just minutes from Perth CBD.

Abstracts

The organising committee invites all members of the Medical Radiation Sciences profession to submit abstracts for oral and ePoster presentations at ASMMIRT 2017, to be held in Perth between March 24 -26. The main conference theme of the ASMMIRT 2017 is Reach. This single title opens opportunities to present on a variety of associated sub-themes like REACH OUT, REACH BEYOND, REACH ACROSS, REACH WITHIN. The possibilities are not limited to these, there may be others that you can explore and develop in presenting on the conference theme. The challenge to you is to be inventive. Get your abstract in now - submissions close on Tuesday 16 August 2016.

ASMMIRT 2017 will feature ePoster displays which will be available at terminals in the exhibition and through the website and app. There will also be short presentation Q&A sessions in the ePoster area of the exhibition.

Program

ASMMIRT 2017 delegates can look forward to a packed scientific program including a selection of inspirational invited speakers, several streams of concurrent technical sessions, hands on workshops and exciting social activities. Thursday 23 March will include a variety of hands on pre-conference workshops, panel meetings and traditional WA styled sundowner on the coast. Friday 24 – Sunday 26 March features the main conference and includes the Student Conference on Friday, Exhibition social function on Friday evening, breakfast sessions on the Saturday, gala dinner at Crown on Saturday night and more. We are also including a family program, featuring opt in trips and tours suggestions for both pre/post conference for you to see some of WA, and a during-conference partner / family program to give your loved ones an insight into Perth while you enjoy the conference sessions.

The 2017 ASMMIRT Student Conference Program will include special invited speakers, social event and early careers forum. Student delegates will also be given the opportunity to 'Reach' by presenting their own work to their student peers in a comfortable, safe environment, an experience that will no doubt set them up to contribute at future ASMMIRT conferences.
