This is a conference for radiographers, by radiographers, where we can actually influence the future together”
Beverley Snaith (Invited Speaker ASMIRT 2023)

Why Attend

ASMIRT 2024 is a conference for Australasia’s medical radiation practitioners (MRPs) of all professions, including medical imaging, sonography, radiation therapy and nuclear medicine. Covering imaging practices and equipment between all professions, ASMIRT 2024 has your particular interest covered.

On behalf of the conference organising committee, we invite all members of the medical radiation science professions to join us at ASMIRT 2024, to be held at the Darwin Convention Centre from 9 to 12 May 2024 on beautiful Larrakia Country in the Northern Territory.

Our Conference theme – Colours of Country: Community, Resilience, and Innovation – celebrates the rich diversity of our communities and professions. This is an opportunity to be immersed in insightful discussions on all thing’s medical radiation science, including radiography, CT, MRI, angiography, mammography, sonography, radiation therapy, and nuclear medicine. ASMIRT 2024 will help foster resilience, amidst challenges to health care delivery, and lead conversations around cutting edge innovations, such as AI and VR, that shape our collective future. Together, we celebrate the spirit of innovation to overcome these challenges and forge connections that will leave a lasting impact on our communities.

The conference will host an engaging program featuring a range of invited speakers, proffered papers, vibrant physical posters, and specialised workshops. It will invite attendees to take learning and enjoyment beyond the conference venue into the community and cultural programs.

Arrive in Darwin by 9 May to experience a full day of interactive workshops to build your knowledge through hands on experience.

Over three days, 10 to 12 May, engage with expert speakers on a range of topics providing specialised educational opportunities.

Submit an abstract for your own presentation or poster. Take the opportunity to present in a collaborative and supportive environment whilst promoting your workplace and developing your research profile. All conference abstracts are published in the Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences (JMRS). Not sure what you could present? Consider submitting your research or quality improvement project, literature review, or interesting case study. Abstract submissions close 13 November 2023.

Interact with like-minded colleagues from around the country and overseas at the multiple networking opportunities where you can build new collaborative projects and initiatives.

With over 2,000 square metres of exhibition space, come and engage with ASMIRT 2024 vendors where you can see, touch and experience all the latest technology, software, and equipment. Speak with vendors and application specialists to investigate future improvements to your clinic or department and trouble shoot those clinical issues you may experience.

Get excited about what you can introduce into your workplace once you return from ASMIRT 2024 and be sure to keep in touch with all your new contacts and networks.
