HOW TO GET INVOLVED

National Radiographers and Radiation Therapists’ Week (NRRTW) is all about celebrating Medical Radiation Practitioners (MRPs) and showing the community, patients, and other health professionals the essential role of our profession.

This year’s theme Medical Radiation Practitioners – meet the person behind your care highlights the human connection and the heart of our profession: caring for others and contributing to saving lives.

1. Celebrate at your workplace

Display the posters from your NRRTW celebration pack in high-traffic areas such as entrances, lifts, cafeterias, lounges and waiting rooms. Why not set up a fun display? Maybe a photobooth background, a skeleton to take selfies with and share on socials. Let’s make this week both meaningful and fun!
Your NRRTW celebration pack includes an A3 version of the street posters that you can display all year, plus a digital template where you can add your name. Customise, print and display your poster to introduce yourself and the profession to patients and colleagues.

Orders for printed materials are now closed.
Digital resources and posters are available to download.

2. Join our national awareness campaign

From 25 October, we’ll be launching our biggest ever public awareness campaign. Your profession will be featured on 250 advertising sites across Australia. These eye-catching posters will deliver bold, direct messages about what radiographers and radiation therapists do. A QR code will invite the public to learn more and meet the people behind their care: you.

This is your campaign – Join in! Spread the word, take selfies, and share what you love about your work. Tag us on socials so we can share your stories.

3. Wear your #hellomynameis tag and start conversations

The #hellomynameis campaign was created by Dr Kate Granger, who noticed that many hospital staff did not introduce themselves before providing care. What began as a simple courtesy became a powerful reminder of the importance of human connection and building trust in healthcare.

Wearing your tag is a great way to connect with patients and start conversations about what you do. Many patients don’t realise the full scope of our skills, so even a small insight helps build trust and appreciation for the profession.

4. Celebrate with your colleagues

NRRTW is the perfect time to showcase your team. Highlight staff achievements internally or ask your organisation’s Communications Team if they can feature MRPs on social media during the week. Try and get in early, as these things can take a couple of weeks to organise.

5. Spread the word on social media

Download our digital resources and use the ready-made social media assets to share NRRTW with your network. Follow @ASMIRTorg on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram to like or reshare our posts and amplify the message. Together, we can make NRRTW 2025 the biggest yet!

6. Join a Parkrun

We know that many MRPs are keen runners, so we’re encouraging everyone to take part in their local ParkRun on Saturday 8 November. Use the stickers from your pack, run proudly with your colleagues, and help raise awareness of our profession in your community.
