Reirradiation Essentials: Radiobiology, Registration & Workflow

Synopsis: Reirradiation is becoming increasingly common, yet practice remains variable across institutions.  This interactive workshop provides a practical framework for delivering safe reirradiation. Participants will explore key radiobiological concepts, including tissue recovery and EQD2 calculations, before examining image registration, dose accumulation, and the management of uncertainty through real-world clinical cases.

Building on these foundations, attendees will collaborate to design a multidisciplinary reirradiation workflow, identifying the essential elements required for safe and consistent practice. Participants will leave with practical tools that can be adapted for implementation within their own departments.

• Apply radiobiological principles, including EQD2 conversion to reirradiation scenarios.
• Evaluate image registrations and dose accumulation data, identifying key sources of uncertainty and appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Design the core components of a multidisciplinary reirradiation workflow that supports safe and consistent practice.
