The ASMIRT 2027 Student Conference is back on Friday 16 April 2027. 

Designed for students, by students, the Student Conference is your opportunity to share your research, showcase your work and have your voice heard in a supportive environment. 

Whether you are presenting or simply attending, there’s plenty to get involved in. Hear about the latest research, explore ideas, meet fellow students, connect with the wider profession and network with ASMIRT Board members and potential employers.  

And when the presentations wrap up, the conversation continues at the ASMIRT 2027 Student Conference Social Event. Relax, meet new people and celebrate the day with fellow students and colleagues.

Have you completed a research project, case study or other work that you’d like to share? Submit an abstract for the chance to present your work at the ASMIRT 2027 Student Conference as an oral presentation or poster. 

An abstract is a concise summary that explains what your work is about, what you did, what you found or learned, and why it matters.

Submissions close 15 October 2026. 

This is your opportunity to share your work with fellow students, explore issues that matter to you and contribute to conversations shaping the future of Medical Radiation Sciences (MRS). 

Abstracts submitted to the Student Conference should follow the same format and requirements as submissions to the main conference. Visit the Abstracts page for submission guidelines and further information. 

To submit an abstract, you must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, Graduate Entry Master’s (GEM) MRS or Honours program at the time of submission. 

For international submissions, you must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. Postgraduate students are not eligible to submit. 

*A Graduate Entry Master’s (GEM) is a program for students who already hold an undergraduate degree in another discipline, such as nursing or an allied health profession, and are undertaking Medical Radiation Sciences as an additional qualification. Students entering a GEM program are not yet qualified as a diagnostic radiographer, radiation therapist or nuclear medicine technologist

Prizes will be awarded for the Best Presentation and Best Poster in each MRS discipline.

• Tell a great story: Keep your presentation or poster clear, engaging and focused on what matters. 
• Make your poster stand out: Use a clear, visually appealing design that makes your key messages easy to understand. 
• Know your topic: Back up your ideas with strong evidence and demonstrate a clear understanding of your work. 
• Practise your delivery: Rehearse so you can present confidently and stay within the allocated time. 
• Connect with your audience: Be ready to answer questions and join the conversation.
