Theme

The theme for ASMIRT 2026 is "Navigate the Wilderness: Listen, Adapt, and Discover."

Inspired by Tasmania’s wild and ever-changing landscape, the theme reflects the dynamic journey of the medical radiation sciences. Like navigating through uncharted terrain, our professions require resilience, awareness, and a willingness to grow. In the face of evolving technologies, complex healthcare systems, and shifting patient needs, we must listen to those around us, adapt to the challenges we face, and discover new and better ways forward.

Key Focus Areas at ASMIRT 2026
This year’s program will spotlight critical and timely topics, including:

◽ Trauma & Survivorship: Understanding the impact of trauma on patients, colleagues, and ourselves—while prioritising empathy, well-being, and person-centred care.

◽ Mentoring & Clinical Education: Building a culture of learning, guidance, and support to empower the next generation of medical radiation professionals.

◽ Embracing Diversity: Creating inclusive workplaces and delivering equitable care to all patients across every setting.
