Registered nurse, and Healthcare Consultant, Cancer Australia

Kelly is an Aboriginal woman with expertise in critical care nursing practice and leadership. Kelly’s clinical experience comes from both military and civilian nursing, including flight nursing and logistical management for emergency assistance and disaster management. More recently, Kelly has been in strategic policy development roles as Director of Nursing for the Office of First Nations Health with Queensland Health and Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council. Recognising many determinants that influence cancer detection and cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Kelly brings an insight to culturally safe engagement and policy development to inform on best practice and innovative measures to strengthen Cancer Australia’s resolve to improve health outcomes across the cancer continuum.
