Egon holds a PhD (bioengineering) and a MSc (physics) and is the supervisor and instrument leader of the large-volume micro-computed tomography (CT) imaging laboratory at Flinders University. Egon’s research involves 3D imaging of bone structures and biomaterials combined with biomechanical testing using micro-CT, investigating musculoskeletal diseases such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. Egon is past president of the Australian and New Zealand Orthopaedic Research Society, and a current council member of the International Federation of Musculoskeletal Research Societies.
