STUDENT CONFERENCE

The ASMIRT/NZIMRT 2025 Student Conference is back, after a 6-year hiatus, and will be held on Friday 28 March 2025.

It is designed to give student delegates the opportunity to present their own work to their student peers in a comfortable, safe environment, an experience that will no doubt set them up to contribute to future ASMIRT Conferences. Students can submit an abstract for presentation or a poster exhibit.

Attendees will benefit from the research presented and networking opportunities with peers, speakers, ASMIRT staff and Board members and potential employers. The program will include invited speakers, social event and an early careers forum. Be sure to follow the #ASMIRTstudent2025 hashtag on social media.

ABSTRACTS

Abstract submissions are now open for oral presentations and poster exhibits at the ASMIRT/NZIMRT 2025 Student Conference. The deadline for submissions is 17 October 2024.

Seize this opportunity to advance your career in Medical Radiation Sciences by presenting your work to your peers. This is your chance to showcase case studies, discuss significant issues, and engage in meaningful debates on topics that matter to you.
Abstracts for the Student Conference should follow the same format as those for the main conference. For more details on how to submit your abstracts, please visit our Abstracts page.

To submit to the Student Conference - you must be a student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Graduate Entry Masters (GEM)* Medical Radiation Science program at the time of abstract submission. This includes honours students. For international submissions you must be a student, not studying postgraduate qualifications.

*A Graduate Entry Masters (GEM) means that you are not qualified as a diagnostic radiographer, radiation therapist or nuclear medicine technologist. The undergraduate qualification can be in nursing or allied health and then you undertake a course as a “second” undergraduate qualification. These courses are referred to as Graduate Entry Masters.

2. Design an Informative Poster: Create a visually appealing and informative poster that effectively communicates your research or case study. Make sure it is easy to understand and highlights key points.
3. Be Thorough: Thoroughly research and understand your topic. Provide detailed analysis and evidence to support your conclusions.

4. Practice Your Delivery: Rehearse your presentation to ensure you can deliver it confidently and within the allotted time.
