Social Events

The ASMIRT 2026 Social Committee has been working diligently to highlight all that Hobart has to offer and create a social program that complements our international conference. Embrace the spirit of Tasmania, connect and enjoy!

Friday Night

As twilight deepens, enter a realm where shadows whisper and light dances with darkness. A guided journey through the city leads you to a cathedral of excess, where an evening woven with bold imagination, beauty, and mysterious wonders awaits. There is a reason nobody sleeps… In the Hanging Garden.

There’s no strict dress code, but if you’d like to embrace the theme, consider adding a touch of crimson (red) or noir (black) to your smart casual outfit.

Venue: In the Hanging Garden: 112 Murray St, Hobart

Saturday Night

Join us for an enchanting evening inspired by the ethereal beauty of Tasmania’s southern skies. Amidst refined company and exquisite surroundings, experience the subtle glow and mystique of the Aurora as we celebrate under the shimmering lights of the south. An elegant night where nature’s wonder meets timeless sophistication.

Dress code: Under the southern lights – Hues of the Aurora Australis
Dress elegantly in jewel tones like emerald, sapphire, violet and gold, with shimmering accents. Think flowing gowns or chic cocktail dresses and sharp suits with colourful or iridescent touches. Shine like the aurora and enjoy the enchantment of the night!

Venue: Princes Wharf No. 1: Castray Esplanade, Hobart
