Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart
Hobart Airport is located approximately 17 kilometres (about 20 minutes by car) from Hobart’s city centre and offers direct flights to and from major Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide, with frequent services daily. Hobart also connects internationally via one-stop flights through mainland hubs.
Taxi and Ride Share services are available at Hobart Airport, with a taxi rank conveniently located just outside the terminal. A taxi ride to the CBD typically costs around $40–$50, depending on traffic and time of day. Ride share services such as Uber and Ola also operate in Hobart.
Public Transport is available via Metro Tasmania buses, which connect the airport to key city locations. While less frequent than in larger cities, services are reliable, and real-time departure information is available through the Metro Tasmania website or app.
Once in Hobart, getting around is easy. The city centre is compact and walkable, and many attractions, restaurants, and event venues are within a short stroll. Local buses also provide access to surrounding suburbs and scenic locations like Mount Wellington and Salamanca Place.
