It is our great pleasure to welcome you to ASMIRT 2026, the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy’s 20th National Conference. Join us at the Grand Chancellor Hotel Hobart, on the traditional land of the Muwinina people, from 26 - 29 March. ASMIRT 2026 is a must-attend event for medical radiation practitioners (MRPs) across Australasia, including those in medical imaging, sonography, radiation therapy, and nuclear medicine.
This conference promises exceptional opportunities for international networking, knowledge sharing, and professional collaboration. Our theme for 2026 is Navigate the Wilderness: Listen, Adapt, and Discover. Much like Tasmania’s natural landscape, our professions present their own challenges and are constantly evolving. The complexities of healthcare, new technologies, and changing patient needs create a vast and often challenging landscape. But as you would navigate the wilderness, we can listen to those around us, adapt to the challenges we face and discover new paths forward.
We warmly invite all medical radiation professionals—CT, MRI, general, angiography, and veterinary radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine practitioners, mammographers, radiation therapists, students, and colleagues—to submit abstracts for oral presentations and poster exhibits. This is your chance to showcase the breadth of medical radiation sciences and incorporate the patient perspective. All accepted abstracts will be published in the
Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences (JMRS).
The conference will feature an engaging program with invited speakers, proffered papers, dynamic poster sessions, and specialised workshops. The event offers a unique opportunity to extend your learning beyond the conference, integrating new insights into your daily clinical practice.
Arrive early on March 26 to participate in interactive workshops designed to enhance your skills through hands-on experiences. Over the following three days, from March 27 - 29, immerse yourself in specialised educational sessions led by expert speakers.
Network with peers from across the globe and take advantage of numerous opportunities to forge new collaborative projects and initiatives. The conference will feature a comprehensive industry exhibition showcasing the latest medical radiation science technologies, multiple concurrent technical sessions over three days, international keynote speakers, a vibrant and inclusive social program and a variety of pre-conference workshops and site visits.
