Are you prepared to manage an anaphylactic reaction?

Medical radiation practitioners (MRPs) who administer agents such as radiographic contrast media must be able to recognise and respond to anaphylaxis quickly, confidently, and effectively. This practical, hands-on workshop supports compliance with the MRPBA/Ahpra Revised Professional Capabilities, including mandatory training in anaphylaxis management.

With the 30 March 2026 anaphylaxis training deadline approaching, this workshop provides a timely opportunity to meet regulatory requirements.

What you will learn

  • Rapid recognition of anaphylaxis
  • Safe, effective management aligned with national treatment pathways
  • Correct use of adrenaline auto-injectors and IM adrenaline (1 mg/1 mL, 1:1,000)
  • Application of Crisis Resource Management (CRM) principles during critical events
  • Basic vital signs assessment and evaluation of treatment effectiveness
  • Strategies to improve patient safety and reduce professional risk

About the Facilitator

Scott Cooper is a registered paramedic and non-practising radiographer with extensive frontline experience managing anaphylaxis and delivering high-quality education to medical radiation practitioners.
