INVITED SPEAKERS

Dr Nick Woznitza MBE - Consultant Radiographer and Clinical Academic, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Nick Woznitza is a consultant radiographer and clinical academic. His work is focused on enhancing and expanding the role of radiographers including radiographer reporting, advanced practice, and artificial intelligence. Nick is an accredited consultant practitioner with the College of Radiographers and advanced practitioner with ASMIRT. He was the overall winner at the 2017 Chief Allied Health Professions Officer awards and was awarded an MBE (Member Of The Order of British Empire) in the Queen's 2022 New Year’s Honours list for services to radiography.

  • radiographer advanced practice, radiographer reporting, lung cancer, artificial intelligence.
Professor Anita Mahajan - Radiation Oncologist and Medical Director, Particle Therapy at Mayo Clinic, Minnesota, USA.

Dr. Mahajan completed her Medical School and Residency at McGill University in Canada then a fellowship in Proton Therapy at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  Since then, she has had faculty positions at Tufts University, MD Anderson Cancer Center and is currently at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Clinically she has expertise in treating pediatric cancer and adult patients with CNS tumors.  Her research interests have focused on improving outcomes, reducing toxicities for these patients with the use of technology such as proton therapy, biologic planning within a multidisciplinary care environment.  She has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and continues to participate in active research initiatives and new applications of proton therapy.  Dr. Mahajan serves as the Medical Director of Particle Therapy at Mayo Clinic and oversees the daily operations of the center.  She works closely with the team to improve efficiency, throughput, implementation of new technology and is working on the new Proton Expansion project in Rochester. 

Special interests:

  • Academic: Late effect mitigation for pediatric cancer survivors, optimization of treatment delivery, use of AI in improving efficiency.
  • Outside of work: Travel, movies, new adventures.
Professor Suresh de Silva - Radiologist, Co-founder and Chairman, Radiology Across Borders.

Suresh is radiologist and a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists with subspecialty interests in oncological, urogenital, gastrointestinal radiology and body and pelvic MRI. He has a Conjoint Lecturer appointment at UNSW and is committed to clinical and radiological research having completed in 2016 a post-graduate degree in clinical trials research at the University of Sydney. He has published in peer review journals in the areas of urological/oncological work and has a special interest in radiological and clinical trials research.

He is on the review board for several local and international journals and is on the RCC subcommittee for the peak research group ANZUP.

Suresh is passionate about philanthropy having founded and is presently chairing Radiology Across Borders. He strongly believes that good education and infrastructure should be made available to all and is committed to seeing this vision come to fruition.
