Cultural Safety Training Workshop
With the release of the updated Professional capabilities document which came into effect in March 2020, MRS professionals need to be aware of their obligations and regulatory responsibilities. This cultural safety workshop is being conducted to inform practitioners of the key components of cultural safety in healthcare, particularly with respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. This 3-hour workshop with Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) facilitators covers Level 3 of the IAHA Cultural Safety training course. Level 3 – Looking through the Cultural Lens, explores the challenges of dominant culture and delves deeper into your own cultural journey, reflecting on the way you view the world through your own lens. From this perspective individuals can make radical changes to their personal leadership in the workplace and community engagement, creating culturally safe and responsive systems. Attendance at this interactive in-person workshop is highly recommended.
Please note: It is a prerequisite to successfully complete Levels 1 and 2 of the IAHA Cultural Safety course prior to undertaking this Level 3 workshop. To find out more information and how to register for Cultural Safety training, click here.
