We are thrilled to announce that the 2026 ASMIRT National Conference will be held in the remarkable city of Nipaluna Hobart, the traditional land of the Muwinina people.
Hobart is a place best known for its breathtaking natural beauty, its vibrant arts scene, and its rich history. But more than that, it’s a city that embodies the spirit of exploration and innovation — making it the perfect setting for our theme in 2026: "Navigate the Wilderness: Listen, Adapt, and Discover." Much like Tasmania’s natural landscape, our professions present their own challenges and are constantly evolving. The complexities of healthcare, new technologies, and changing patient needs create a vast and often challenging landscape. But as you would navigate the wilderness, we can listen to those around us, adapt to the challenges we face and discover new paths forward.
Key topics at ASMIRT 2026 will include:
- Trauma & Survivorship: Exploring the impact of trauma on patients, colleagues, and ourselves, and how we can provide compassionate, patient-centred care while prioritizing well-being.
- Mentoring & Clinical Education: Fostering a culture of support and guidance for the next generation of medical radiation professionals.
- Embracing Diversity: Learning how to create more inclusive workplaces and provide equitable care to all patients.
We look forward to an exciting program filled with discussions, networking, and opportunities for professional growth.
